点评:Despite being close to Waterloo Station, Lower Marsh Market is one of those quaint areas of London that seems like a local secret. The rich aromas of baked goods and sizzling spices drew me in when I stopped by around lunchtime.
Although there is a wide variety of stalls, I immediately chose the Greek food and pastries, and I was not let down. The spanakopita had the perfect balance of spinach and feta and was warm and flaky. I also picked up a sticky, sweet, and highly addictive dessert that was dripping with honey.
The market itself exudes a laid-back, neighbourhood vibe; it's not too busy or ostentatious, but it's teeming with locals and visitors alike. It's a terrific spot to get a tasty snack quickly without feeling like you're at a chain restaurant.
The only reason I'm not giving it five stars is that there isn't a lot of seating; if you're there during busy times, try to find a spot to sit or bring your food to a nearby bench. But it's well worth the stop because of the food, variety, and atmosphere.
