点评:There are 2 tours, we did the 3 hr morning tour which is the same as the afternoon tour but with the added bonus of spending time out on the actual fossil field. You park at the main carpark and then are picked up by your guide in a bus. A short 15 minute drive on Nilpena Station to the Homestead area. This is amazing in itself being built in 1870s. First stop is the stone shearing shed .. a magnificent building with ripple stone floors and even a fossil or two. Next a short walk along the time line (which is explained in detail) to the Blacksmiths which now houses Alice's Restaurant Bed .. this is brilliant. A 3D video presentation on an actual Fossil Bed, brings the fossil bed to life, you are encouraged to touch the bed while the presentation is going and then have a good look at the fossils afterwards. Then back on the bus for a short drive to the Fossil Beds. The views from where the bus parks here are amazing. This is really interesting and everything is explained in great detail, you even have a bit of fun with some putty. Make sure you wear closed in shoes, take a hat, water bottle and a snack. Lillian was a fabulous guide (and a scientist) and is really passionate about this place.
