My mother received a massage at The Now on 4428 Lemmon Ave Dallas, Texas 75219 as a birthday gift from me.
During the massage session, several issues arose from my mother's experience:
- The sound of coughing, rattling paper or a bag, and spitting up was noticeable.
- The masseuse's hands felt cold and seemed to have residual oil or grit on them, which caused discomfort.
-Could feel the masseuse's nails in my skin, which obviously needed to be cut or trimmed.
- While on my back, the top side of my arms did not receive attention, and the massage was frequently interrupted.
- Upon returning to the room to retrieve my glasses, I found the masseuse lying on the bed I had just vacated with their head at the foot of the bed.
- Two days later, I developed a sore throat, followed by three days later with vomiting, body aches, and dizziness, which led to a COVID diagnosis and subsequent work absence.
We made the employee at the front desk aware of the terrible service before leaving & she assured us that the manager would follow up. It has been 2 weeks and the manager Cathryn (Curly) has yet to follow up.
I have called several times as the manager continues to dodge my phone calls, and constantly has her employees to keep up lies saying, “She says she will call you back tomorrow morning.”
EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL.
Given these circumstances, we seek appropriate compensation for the distress and the impact on our health. Furthermore, it is imperative that workers in this industry refrain from working when unwell to prevent such occurrences in the future.
