A hidden gem of a rest stop
SC I95 Santee Rest Area - Northbound的点评
点评：This seems like a very simple rest area along I-95 heading north but it has a very unique feature. It is one of the many rest areas along the interstate. It is easy pull off with car parking first before the main building and truck parking just beyond it. There are two structures amid the many trees that dot the grounds. Look around and you will be surprised by the curved stone bench and the saying right outside the restroom. It is engraved stone with the saying, “Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe to assure the survival and the success of liberty.” Most people just pass by this but I found it a very nice break and one that makes this stop a special one. One of the buildings holds the restrooms with men’s and women’s restrooms on opposite sides of it. There is a second smaller building next in front of the car park that has machines for drinks and food. There are pavilions with open-air covered tables up the hill from the parking lot and restrooms. This was a very nice place to stop and take a break
