点评：Villoondi Theertham is located about 6 km from the Rameswaram main bus stand. Apart from its peaceful surroundings, calm tides, and scenic sea views, the place is famous for its unique freshwater spring located within the sea itself.
The name “Villoondi” means “the place pierced by the arrow,” while “Theertham” means “sacred water.” Visitors can reach the well by walking along a narrow bridge extending about 120 feet into the sea.
At the well, a local person usually offers visitors a free taste of the freshwater before charging for additional water if they wish to take more. The phenomenon of sweet water emerging beside the sea is certainly interesting and unusual.
However, unless you have sufficient time during your Rameswaram trip, this place may not be an essential stop compared to some of the other major attractions in the area.
