点评：Venice in Los Angeles - I Had No Idea! Venice is in Italy. Venice is also at the Venetian in Las Vegas. But, in February of 2026, this writer learned that there are also Venice Canals in Los Angeles and pedestrian walkways available for public access, so that anyone can go walking and exploring (see photo). You can walk for three or four blocks on the canal streets and also walk back on the perpendicular streets in the grid pattern. Ducks, geese, and birds swim on and near the canals, and different blocks have different vibes. Some areas are more bohemian, some are modern, some are very well-maintained and pricey, and others appear to sag a bit. Some homes are painted in bright, whimsical colors, and we noted that one had astroturf not only on the ground, but also on the seats of the lawn chairs (see photo). This is a neighborhood where people live and work and walk their dogs, etc., and I liked that the tourists we observed were all quiet and respectful. Many people have maintained their landscaping beautifully. This is a fun place to walk around for an hour or so, it's free to do so, and it's also very near the Venice Beach Boardwalk. I am very glad we stopped by here to get some "steps in" and enjoy the architecture.
