点评：During my recent visit to Naxos on August 2026 I was fortunate to learn about Yiannis Franjeskos and his “ Naxos Sculpture Exhibition “.
The unique technique of the Artist makes us speechless. One of the various books he has at the entrance of his Exhibits is named “ the Soul of the Stone “ and that’s the essence of his Theory and true Belief and Implementation !
The Artist finds the soul of the inanimate stone bringing the lifeless appearance to a living state of existence ! The new objects born out of the stone are realistic and alive with amazing details of realism. The range of his objects varies from every day items like a complete “ breakfast plate “ with eggs and ham to a sculptor’s 4000 year trip back to Early-Cycladic Civilization creations ! His devotion to detail is emphasized on small animals like a snail or a pigeon to a cat or a grasshopper where again life comes out of the inanimate stone with cinematic photorealism ! It is also remarkable that he uses no coloring or artificial dyes in his creations letting the stone speak itself through its own shades and hidden colorations that come out to life ! The Artist extracts the essence of the stone giving it a soul that was hidden deep inside but now is out and here to stay !
I recommend to everyone who visits Naxos to visit his unique sculpture and art gallery !
