点评:Who would have thought, a sake making distillery in Hot Springs AR?!
To start off, a little history... Arkansas is the number supplier of rice in the USA. There is also a farm nearby that specializes in growing Japanese rice called Isbell Farms.
The vice president of Origami, Ben Bell went to Japan and learned to make sake after a 2 year long apprenticeship.
What does all this give you? The BEST tasting Sake made in the USA! The tour of the facility was amazing, after working in a brewery myself for several years and noticing the details of cleanliness I was blown away hot spotless it was from the bottling machines to the fermentation tanks.
After the tour we all sat down and had samples of 2 different Sake's. One Nigori (clouded) and one clear. Both on the sweeter side and both full of aromas and characteristics of traditional sake. We even got to sample their new limited edition release!
Did I mention they run off solar panels? Fully sustainable!
Very friendly staff and great tour! Can't wait to come back and visit again and again.
