点评:Really interesting place to visit if in the Taunton area and looking for somewhere that has history and countryside linked together.
Make a wide range of willow products from willow grown in the area including a wide range of coffins as well as traditional baskets and trays etc. Also the biggest makers of artist charcoal in the world from all the willow cut off in the manufacture of their traditional products so very sustainable company, generate some of their own electricity from panels located near by.
Had a full tour of the museum and production area, wear some good walking shoes as it’s a bit messy underfoot. Allow an hour and a half for museum which includes a video setting the full process of planting harvesting and preparing the willow to be weaved.
Well worth £8.50 as the guide of the production area was very knowledgeable and entertaining.
We had lunch at the Lemon Tree cafe within the area which was produced fresh and was delicious especially the cheese scones!!
Do give them a visit, there are some walks from the centre but it has been so wet recently we didn’t do that.
