点评:The Liberation Hall (Befreiungshalle in German) in Kelheim is an impressive 19th-century monument commissioned by King Ludwig I of Bavaria to commemorate the Wars of Liberation against Napoleon. Built in a grand neoclassical style, the circular hall is richly decorated with statues and symbolic elements representing victory and unity, making the interior both atmospheric and striking.
After having visited the Walhalla in Donaustauf just a few months earlier - another monumental project commissioned by King Ludwig I to honor German history - it felt only logical for my boyfriend and me to see the Liberation Hall next. We visited toward the end of august and were truly impressed, especially by the powerful interior design. The climb is well worth it, as the balcony platform offers a beautiful panoramic view over Kelheim and the surrounding landscape. A meaningful, well-preserved monument that combines architecture, history, and scenery perfectly. I highly recommend a visit,if you're in the area!
