When we arrived at the scheduled pickup time, the van was not ready for almost two hours due to a broken rear windscreen. We later discovered multiple pieces of glass still inside the vehicle during the trip, despite being told it had been fully cleaned. This raised obvious safety concerns.
We also found stained pillowcases and were missing basic items like a tea towel. Later in the trip we discovered cockroaches in the upper storage area. Given that the van had been left overnight with no rear windscreen before our hire, this was very concerning.
The return inspection process was far more strict than the pickup, and we had to prove pre-existing damage ourselves using our own photos and videos.
We raised all of these issues with the company, but the responses were disappointing and did not properly address several of the concerns, including the glass. The compensation offered was minimal, and only on the condition that we signed a non-disparagement agreement preventing us from leaving any online review. We did not feel comfortable agreeing to that.
For the price paid (over $3,000), we expected a much higher standard of safety, cleanliness, and customer service.
