点评:One of the goals for my just-completed trip to Haworth from the US was to visit the Brontë Birthplace, in Thornton. Walking with a local friend across the moors on a hot and sunny day, our efforts were amply rewarded. The Birthplace has been lovingly restored and furnished to be period-accurate; and as we wandered about exploring the house - visiting the room where the four youngest Brontë children were born, the nursery where they played, the scullery where household tasks were performed - we could not help wondering how a family of eight (plus servants) managed in a relatively small space. But the house itself, indeed, has its charms, and the staff is so knowledgeable and helpful, the rooms so lovingly displayed and approachable, that it is extremely easy to see the house as a home - not strictly a museum. We were fortunate, as well, to be able to visit the three themed guest rooms (Charlotte’s, Emily’s, and Anne’s), each of which was true to its namesake.
I hope to be able to visit again when next in the area - perhaps to stay in one of the guest rooms!

我希望下次到这个地区时能够再次光临——也许可以入住其中一间客房!
