点评:Tiger is my worst experience among all Phuket Muay Thai gym.
First, some background: I have several years of intermittent training experience in Muay Thai and other combat sports. I enjoy watching UFC and ONE Championship fights, as well as highlight clips. I’m an enthusiast who attends training classes but doesn’t compete.
Now, for my terrible experience during a private training session.
I had booked a private session and was waiting at the reception. When the coach saw me, there was no greetings. He didn’t ask if I was doing well, didn’t even nod, and didn’t say a single hello.
After the session started, he didn’t ask about my training background or experience. He said nothing at all and immediately had me start running to warm up, followed by one minute of shadowboxing on my own.
After that, we went straight into high-intensity pad work.
We suppose have total of five rounds of Muay Thai pad work. The coach didn’t care about my current fitness level or physical condition. He focused entirely on high-intensity combinations rather than technical drills. There were lots of physically demanding combinations, such as continuous punches and repeated hook punches.
The coach had zero interaction with me and completely ignored me during the breaks, chatting only with the coach standing beside him.
Although he did correct some of my technique during the pad work, the overall attitude and quality of the session were miles below what I’ve experienced at other gyms at Phuket.
At the beginning of the third round, I asked him to slow down the pace. He nodded to indicate that he understood, but the intensity remained extremely high. By halfway through the fourth round, I was breathing so heavily that I began to feel lightheaded and had to stop the session to rest.
The coach showed absolutely no concern and simply went about his own business.
This was my personal experience at Tiger Muay Thai. The coach’s name was Pong.
If you’ve accepted a customer’s money, you should provide the attitude and level of service that the customer deserves. If you can’t treat ordinary enthusiasts or tourists with attentiveness, patience, and friendliness, then you might as well put up a sign at the entrance saying:
“Pros only. Beginners/tourists are unwelcome.”
