Golden Spike Tower and Visitor Center的点评
点评：This is a must-see stop for any railfan. The view from either of the indoor or outdoor observation decks is unique, with a panoramic view of the world's largest rail classification yard--Union Pacific's Bailey Yard. The yard is 9 miles long, and almost sits in two time zones. On each floor are explanatory photos, videos and exhibits that provide current and historical information about the yard and North Platte. The docents are knowledgeable and friendly. The gift shop is filled with rail-related tchotchkes for the whole family. But the Tower sits slightly out of town at the end of some city streets and isn't well-signed. I recommend stopping first at the North Platte Visitor Center, which is just off the I-80 at the U.S. 83 (S. Jeffers St.) exit, where they can provide a map and easy directions to the Tower.
