点评:We rented an Ultimate car & driver for a day trip from Takoradi to visit the 1979 UNESCO Gold Coast Castle and the nearby Busua Beach.
While only 40km SW on N1, the going is sometimes very slow as the highway is still under construction and interspersed with rough dirt areas with vehicle queues. Nevertheless, the destination was worthwhile with the prominent castle sitting over a beautiful fishing village where boats are being skillfully built and repaired using the 2” x 10" in 14/16 foot long Wawa boards that were stacked nearby. The harbor was active with 6’ long tuna being stripped, washed & carried to smoke huts for curing.
15 minutes to the east, we parked at the Busua Beach Resort to walk one of the nicest beaches in the country, known to be clean with a mild & predictable surf, perfect for learning to surf. Strolling the small harbor, we found everyone friendly and relaxed about taking pictures of their beautiful boats.
A wonderful morning.
