点评:This factory is the real thing, in a very historic set of buildings. On the tour, we got to see the glass actually being made - carried over from huge furnaces in heavy "ladles" to the machine where the molten glass is formed into sheets. Very impressive! There are pieces of slag glass all over the floor - it's obvious why they don't allow open toe shoes. In addition to the gift shop, there's a shop for those who actually create stained glass pieces, including the colorful glass and all of the accoutrements/tools that are needed to do the work. Although this place is probably about 4 hours away from where we live, we'd like to come back to purchase supplies for a project someday.
Finding the factory is a bit of a trick. It's adjacent to the railroad track, which complicates things. The GPS on your phone will "sort of" get you there, but the factory is in behind some buildings with no obvious way to get there. We circled the area a few times before making it to the parking lot via an alley!
