Heybridge Basin的点评
点评：A very poor experience. I've been visiting Heybridge for over 35 years and the car park has always been free. It's yet more predictable Essex greed. They just can't help themselves. We were taught at uni about the aggressive privatisation of the countryside and the (usually successful) attempts of councils and landowners to remove as many publicly accessible spaces as they can get away with and help themselves to your cash, and that's exactly what's happened here. The council have made sure to remove any alternative parking options from the entire area and you're basically being funnelled into yet another money pit. So of course it will not surprise you to learn that all the businesses at Heybridge Basin have happily jumped on that wagon and have uniformly and sickeningly raised their prices and agreed to exclude anyone who doesn't want to pay to visit their own area. If you don't want to get ripped off, don't visit Heybridge Basin. Furthermore, if you are the sort of person who takes offence at being treated like a 3rd pocket every time you leave home, please register your disgust with Visit Essex and Essex County Council as many times as you deem necessary. Alternatively, come up north where you can mostly park for free. Remember: if you don't stand up for yourself and others, we will eternally remain victims of these people and their toxic attitude towards their own community. Nice place, very poor value for money...
