Bateman's的点评
点评：On a very hot day in July, Bateman's was full of visitors, many of whom were children. Were they visiting because of author Rudyard Kipling? Or, more specifically, because of the setting of 'Puck of Pook's Hill'? The lovely old house was home to the author for more than thirty years and features one of his old Rolls Royces.
There's plenty to see and several walks, including one to the restored Park Mill. The café had a very long queue so we walked up to the village stores in Burwash which gave us glorious views of the Weald from the sloping fields.
This is a place where several forms of literary tourism are present: paying homage to a location associated with an author, setting for fiction, and film induced literary tourism since some of 'My Boy Jack' (concerning Rudyard's son) was filmed there.
