点评:Ocho Rios to Kingston, Wednesday, July 16: Richard Flowers picked me & the wife up right on time from our resort in a clean, very well air-conditioned minivan. It was just the two of us; felt a lot better than being on a bus with a bunch of folks. We had a beautiful ride to Kingston, up and over the mountains. Richard took a toll road (he paid it), because it was better maintained than the regular roads, which would have been much bumpier, and probably doubled our travel time. He even pulled over high in the hills and let us take a couple of pics of the beautiful valleys below. When we got to Kingston, we went straight to the Marley Museum. Richard parked the van and told us to take as much time as we wanted, and he would be chillin right there. It was really cool to experience that place without feeling rushed. When we left the museum (which was hard to do), Richard asked us if we wanted to get something to eat at a good local spot, but we weren’t really hungry yet, so he drove us to Emancipation Park. He let us out to explore the beautiful space, with an amazing statue at the entrance, and a corridor of busts called “Jamaica’s Journey to Freedom,” honoring the island’s national heroes. We stopped at the Port of Kingston to check out some huge ships, and Richard even took a couple of pictures of us by the water! Nice drive back to the resort; stopped at a local store for some juice on the way back. All told, we spent about 8 hours total. I would definitely call them again; the price was comparable to other sites and offerings, and Richard Flowers was amazing. I asked a LOT of questions, and he had lots of answers; just don’t try to talk to him about religion or politics. 😊 It was truly JAMAIZING! They made us feel really special.
