A lovely day out that feels more personal than some standard zoos

点评：The stand-out attraction is the gorgeous European Brown Bears, who we were lucky enough to see for a long period of time during their lunch. We listened to a talk about their history and journey to the sanctuary. The guide was well-informed, confident and shared lots of interesting facts about European Brown Bears and the unfortunate lives that some have in other counties.
We also watched a talk about the lemurs which was very interesting and delivered by a member of staff who clearly was very passionate and knowledgeable. This made the experience more personal and allowed us to learn more about the animals in the sanctuary.
There are lots of animals at the sanctuary, although some were asleep and not available to see whilst we were there. We still got what we came for which was the bears, lions, and tigers. A really lovely day out. The sanctuary’s work is clearly very meaningful and has the animals’ welfare at the heart of what they do.
