Sandy beach in Leynar Village

点评：We have stopped here first on the way to Vestmanna as you will pass this village every time you try to go to or out of Vestmanna - not that we came to Faroe Islands for a beach experience but this is probably the nicest and the biggest sandy beach around the islands - it's right below a very small and cozy village of Laynar.
As we have learned later during our trip when tasting the pilot whale meat and blubber, this is also one of the beaches where the grind takes place from time to time (it rotates) - I dont judge, I dont support nor go against it, I respect the local customs and leave it at that - what I can add is that I find it amazing that just a week or two before our visit 200 pilot whales were "captured" here - seeing "red pictures" vs. this beach in its natural state definitely gives a perspective
