点评:After failing to acquire a sunrise pass for any of the days here in Acadia NP, I booked the shuttle up and thought, smartie, we’ll just hike the way down and catch the Island Explorer. In between July and now, I fell, hurting my knee and still thought I’d be able to make the “easy hike” down the south ridge trail. Friends, I got to the scramble bit already in pain. After a lot of frustration on my part, the Cadillac Summit Shuttle was able to take our party of 3 back down on the 830 return. Don’t be prideful like me, just book the round trip.
We interacted with 3 of the drivers (Bobbie2 and Bessie1 were our busses) and they could not have been more gracious and professional.
On the actual event itself, I think it was worth waking up early and almost freezing in the mid-30° but I think it’s a one and done. There was something very lovely about groups of unorganized people who collectively agree to appreciate that the sun has risen again.
