点评:I booked an airport transfer via Booking.com with Sixt Ride. I received a text message from the driver saying our plane has landed and he would wait 45 minutes and then he was gone whether we were there or not. This message was received while our plane was still moving towards the stand. We were seated near the rear and had to wait until we disembarked from the front of it - this took at least 15 minutes.
Due to the new passport rules for those travelling on non-EU passports (all those with a British Passport) we then had to queue to register (facial scan and fingerprints) prior to queuing again at passport control.
I called the driver while in the queue for passport control to see if he would wait longer for us as by this time I was slightly concerned that we would miss him. I explained that we were there and were in queues and also had to collect our baggage.
His response was that he would wait only 30 minutes from the time of my call and then he would leave.
We made it out to the meeting point with about a minute to spare! He said that had we not arrived when we did that he would show us as not turning up.
I have fed this back to Booking.com that companies need to allow those with non-EU passports time to navigate this system at airports (I have heard of very lengthy queues at some) but am doubtful that they will take notice of this.
Please bear this in mind if pre-booking airport pick ups.
