点评：My wife and I enjoyed a full day family heritage tour with Stewart Wilson while visiting Scotland for the first time ever. He set up an individualized tour on short notice devoted to my ancestors of Clan Johnston(e). He was extremely professional and well prepared, including his historical knowlege researched on the family. He picked us up at our hotel in Glasgow in a very well maintained and comfortable vehicle, and we drove about an hour south to Annandale, a historic valley and district in Dumfries and Galloway. He had his route well planned so that we would stay on the most scenic roads. What a beautiful area! We visited Moffat, a historic market and spa town whose land was given to the Johnston(e) clan in the 1600’s. We stopped to view the Devils Beef Tub in the hills north of Moffat and the remains of Lochwood Tower built by Clan Johnston(e) in the 14th century. We also stopped at the residence of the current clan chief - the Raehills House. We next visited the rural village of JohnstoneBridge, named after the Johnston Family. Nearby, was the Johnstone Parish Church first constructed in 1733, and containing many Johnston(e) grave markers. We saw the battlefield where the Battle of Dryfe Sands was fought between the Johnston(e)s and the Maxwells. Our trip also included a wonderful Scottish lunch at a restaurant recommended by Stewart, and a visit to the Memorial at the Lockerbie Cemetery. It was very moving and the were many Johnston(e) ancestors buried there as well. Our day ended with a ride back to the hotel in Glasgow. The day could not have gone any better. I highly recommend you book a tour with Stewart. It was a lifetime of dreams coming true in one day.
