点评：The DUMBO Flea Market is not huge, which can be kind of great. It's manageable, easy to wander and easy to browse. It's also easy to say, “I don't need anything,” and then find something you suddenly absolutely want to enjoy. 😉 Overall, it's a nice place to be, take in the atmosphere, browse a little, and see what catches your eye. You don't have to be there with a shopping mission.
The setting is a big part of the experience. The scale of the Manhattan Bridge looming over the flea market affects the overall sense of scale as you walk below. Cars, subway trains, pedestrians, and cyclists are moving across the bridge. Beneath the archway it can be dark, and although you're protected from the elements, it can feel cramped when there are a lot of people.
There are sometimes food trucks, and there are places to eat nearby, so it's easy to make the flea market part of a longer walk through DUMBO. Is it the biggest flea market in New York? No. Does it compete with some of the larger markets? Probably not. But it doesn't really need to. It's a pleasant place to wander, browse, maybe find something, and maybe not.
