点评：Long time since I was last in the Oak but my wife and I decided to go there for a sandwich lunch.
Driving into the car park, the garden and kids play area was still there, but empty no doubt thanks to the heatwave.
Walking from the car down to the side door, we got the impression that the place looked a little uncared for and a bit sad - previously it was pretty smart with large function suite which appeared to be a store now . Sign of the times in Hospitality these days, I guess.
Inside, much is as I remember it, only one other customer and not sure if the kitchen was open, checked with the bartender who confirmed it was, gave us some menus and took our drinks order.

Looking through the menu, sandwiches were shelved with my wife opting for Liver, bacon & onions and I went for the mince pie, veg & potato mash with gravy.
When they were delivered, we knew we had chosen wisely. The pie was a good sized wedge with lovely mash, a good selection of veg and a smashing gravy. It was excellent.
My wife felt the same about the liver & Bacon and despite being tempted, desserts were out of the question as the main courses had been so filling.
I have a feeling we will be back sooner rather than later.

食物送来时，我们就知道自己的选择没错。那个派的份量恰到好处：有美味的土豆泥、各种蔬菜，还有香气四溢的肉汁。味道简直棒极了。
我的妻子对肝脏配培根这道菜也赞不绝口。虽然很想尝尝甜点，但由于主菜实在太饱腹，我们最终还是放弃了。
我有种预感，我们很快就会再来光顾的。
