点评：This place is amazing. If you have come to Costa Rica to see wildlife, this is a great opportunity to stay within a wildlife preserve. We saw sloths (both two and three toed), capuchin monkeys, and peccaries. Others saw howler monkeys. The lodge is almost set up like a research station. You will be staying in cabanas that do not have AC, but the fans provided are adequate. The meals in the main eating area are delicious. The on-site guides really know their stuff and can point out animals that you would never see normally. The trails on the property explore several habitats such as rainforest, open fields, beach, and marshy swamp. This means there are a TON of different species of birds to see. The beach is completely undeveloped, and you will likely have it to yourself. It is a 10-minute walk down a dirt road. Most important, this is a wildlife preserve on a former cattle ranch. This is a great example of reforesting critical bird and animal habitat. This type of endeavor - locally owned, staffed, and operated deserves your support. To learn more about the preserve, look for a book called "Monkeys are Made of Chocolate" by Jack Ewing. Yes, there is a road nearby and you can sometime hear trucks but the experience is worth the occasional noise.
