点评:A beautiful, "magical" garden tucked away unassumingly in a corner of UCR's campus. I hiked up the road from campus center to here on a 101 degree and that was not a great idea, but that was my fault. Maybe I was lightheaded or maybe I just became giddy at the beauty and maybe both. A friendly redheaded student from Ireland maybe (? sorry if I'm wrong) welcomed me at the entrance gate like some kind of Tolkien character. Once inside I found all sorts of cool trails snaking up and down all over the place. I unfortunately only had like 20 minutes so I did the quickest tour possible. It was a blur of cool California plants and cool flowers and cool non-California plants. I paused for a moment at a turtle pond to tie my shoe. The turtles looked so serene. I was glad I stopped. Then I excited. I will definitely be back for much longer when it's cooler (for the record, the gardens have a decent amount of shade). Amazing find!! If you're a botanic garden lover in SoCal it's a must-see.
