Gainsborough's House的点评
点评：Gainsborough’s House is located centrally in the Suffolk town of Sudbury and is just under half a mile on foot from the train station.
It contains the original Gainsborough family house built in the 18th century. Plenty of the family’s history in the textile industry plus a good selection of paintings by Thomas and other relatives.
There’s also a room of interesting work by Cedric Morris and also John Constable.
The special exhibitions were really fascinating too.
Love and Landscape by Stanley Spencer with some typical Spencer paintings particularly from Cookham.
Song for Autumn by Hannah Brown was pretty good too. A range of paintings of urban hedgerows from East London.
Finally, Home by Humphrey Ocean. Former bass player in Kilburn and the High Roads, a series of modern works which were decent and thought provoking.
Admission fee was £5 with an Art Fund card and regular admission £15.
