Beautiful castle, interesting Christmas decorations

点评：My adult daughters and I recently visited Bamburgh Castle on a bus tour from Edinburgh.
The castle is visible from a distance, and very picturesque. From the parking lot it’s a short but steep uphill walk to the castle entrance and ticket office. Once inside this complex you can walk around the courtyard and ramparts, and then tour the interior of the castle.
The inside is not fancy, but it’s pretty. The family that owns the castle still lives there, so much of it is off limits. I think we got to see about 14 rooms. Towards the end there’s a gift shop and a dungeon with some gruesome looking mannequins.
The castle was all decorated for Christmas, which was fun to see. The decorations were very eclectic, such as a Jack in the Beanstalk tree/vine. Some were downright odd such as a fake lake or ocean in the Great Hall (there seemed to be a nautical theme going on). Photography was allowed as long as you turned your flash off.
