Raby Castle, Park And Gardens的点评
点评：It’s hard to put my finger on what has changed in the Castle, but the fusty Victoriana seems to have disappeared, and the rooms now give the impression of a very stylish stately home. And there are rooms which I have never seen before, beautifully set up just as if the Butler had only just left his pantry and the housemaid had only just made her bed.
Some of the furnishings appear to be new, but most beautifully designed such as the embroidered cushions on the sofas and a wonderful bedspread in the blue bedroom, from Turkey, we were told.
My two 17 year old granddaughters and their cousins were absolutely delighted by the place, especially the old kitchen.
I was particularly thrilled by the exhibition which is running for the summer, Castle in Bloom; these floral decorations have to be seen to be believed in their fabulous settings, such as the ballroom and the dining room.
I have been visiting Raby ever since I was a child, but in recent years, I have been less keen to go . However, I shall now be recommending it to everyone.
