Extremely disappointing cafe

点评：This review concerns the cafe, not the house or gardens which were lovely.
I write as a National Trust life member and volunteer at a different property.
Our experience of the cafe was very poor. Paper plates, cups and cheap wooden cutlery really spoilt it, and the food selection was extremely limited. I expect the Trust will say it's more environmentally friendly to use paper plates but it felt more like a cost cutting measure to save on washing up.
I asked if we could have the tea in a proper cup to receive a "couldn't care less-type" response that they don't have any. Sadly, this is not the only National Trust cafe where we have had this kind of experience. Standards have definitely dropped, no doubt in an effort to save money.
We learnt a lesson here. Don't bother with National Trust cafés in future. Go to a garden centre instead where they know how to do things properly.
Sad to be writing this as an active volunteer for the Trust.
