Lake Compounce Amusement & Water Park的点评
点评：Honest review from someone who goes yearly:
First, if you have two kids below 48” don’t go.
It’s not friendly to single moms or parents with multiple children. Going on most rides they insist on an adult for every child so if you have more than one child you will constantly be turned away from even kiddie rides. The haunted house, balloons, swaying boat, rapids to name some. Each ride is unclear and each attendant makes their rules which can range from over 14 to just being above the 48” mark to needing to be an adult.
Also, don’t plan to eat there. The fried dough tastes like onions and looks like a cracker because they just take the dough from the pizza fridge and fry it. It was really good last year but no, I don’t want pizza flavored dough with sugar on it. Major concerns about contamination there. The burger is more filler than meat and tastes like a microwave meatball… but at least the fries are pretty good regardless of where you get them.
They do have water filling which is actually great and plentiful, but the stations can get sketchy and it’s debatable on the actual cleanliness.
There were no less than 5 ride shut downs throughout from vomiting or diarrhea during my stay this year. That includes water areas where small children are not wearing swim diapers and the flume.
Campground needs a real playground for the price. It’s just so expensive and it offers nothing. No planned activities and not much for smaller kids. The seesaw is a lawsuit waiting to happen and every year a child in our group gets severely injured on it so I’m actually surprised it hasn’t broken a toddlers foot or cracked open someone’s mouth. It needs some kind of suspension at the very least.
The waste treatment is loud and smelly… but that’s obviously nothing they can do and it really minimally affects our stays.
The rides are great but the staff is 50-50. Ride heights are not as advertised. Even the person giving out the cards at the front is really dependent on who. One staff refused to measure my son with the ruler behind him and insisted on the side from a foot away that he was 47” despite being over 48 at the front sign and 48” on his last pedi visit.
That said, change the sign at the front. You have kids and parents planning their entire day on that sign and then being told it’s inaccurate. TAKE IT DOWN. That’s really unreasonable.
Finally, the illness. Year after year someone leaves sick. This year was the worst by far. Several people in our group came down sick with vomiting and diarrhea after a 5 day trip so we left early.
Anyways, the rides are fun when the kids get on and the park is overall fun enough.
