点评:Whether you know it or not, you have already seen pictures of Forsyth Park and more particularly its fountain. It is the quintessential view of Savannah, and we often heard that the fountain was the most photographed thing not just in Savannah but in all of Georgia.
It is, indeed, a very nice fountain. According to our guide, they actually bought it from a catalog in the 1800s, but never mind, it is still fun to look at. While we were there or even walking by the park, we law multiple photographers and several wedding parties taking advantage of the setting.
The rest of the park is nice, too. There are trees all over with the iconic Spanish moss, as well as lots of open lawn. In some cases, the setting reminded us of the Seurat painting of a park in Paris.
Many of the houses lining the park are attractive in their own right.
This is one of “the” sights everyone comes to see in Savannah and it’s actually free. You’ll want to come here to see it, but it’s also a nice place to stroll around and people watch.
