Queen Charlotte Sound的点评
点评：This is a major waterway with the Marlborough Sounds region of South Island. It is where you find the communities of Havelock and Picton, the arrival point for vessels connection North Island (Wellington) with the South Island. The waters within the Sound are turquoise blue and surrounded by forested hilly shores, making for stunning scenery and outdoor activities.
We recently stayed at the Lochmara Lodge for a couple of nights, taking boat transportation from Picton across the Sound to Lochmara Bay and the Lodge. As part of our stay we make the hike up to the Onahau Lookout Point, which is connected to the famous 73 km long Queen Charlotte Track and enjoyed remarkable elevated views of the Sound at roughly 400 metres above sea level. We also used kayaks provided by the lodge to paddle around in the Sound a bit. This was enjoyable.
Spending time at Lochmara was a nice way to enjoy time around Queen Charlotte Sound. There are other lodges, accommodation and activity options scattered around the Sound as well as back in Picton. All makes for yet another fun place to spend a bit of time in New Zealand.
