A Devon Steam Train Journey

点评：This was the Waterloo to Paignton and Kingswear journey and having been with Steam Dreams before, I will say this was the best so far.
We were treated so well from the start to finish in the Pullman Class with courteous and attentive staff. No problem too big or too small, not that there were any.
The food throughout was excellent accompanied by plenty of tea and coffee with champagne on arrival followed by breakfast, pastries, evening meal of four courses, alcohol allowance of £21 finishing with petit four.
The carriage and decor superb with very well laid out tables and the food delivery was second to none. The two waiting persons were fantastic, all day. Always smiling bearing in mind they had started the day at 0300! We left the train at 2145 and they were still on the ball and attentive as ever. Still smiling!
The carriage manager kept us well informed of the day’s timetable and were never left with any outstanding questions.
You have the option of starting at Waterloo or joining the train at three other stations along the line. This is with a vintage diesel until the steam engine joins at Taunton where it takes you the rest of the way.
The tickets were quite pricey I thought at first, but after experiencing the day’s package, worth every pound. Excellent value.
You had the option of a drop off at Paignton or Kingswear to spend time in either town. The line from Paignton being a heritage line. We chose the latter and had a free ferry ride over to Dartmouth for just over a three hour stopover on presenting your ticket.
All in all a long day, but a fantastic day I thoroughly recommend.

起初我觉得票价有点贵，但体验了一天的行程后，觉得物超所值。非常划算。
您可以选择在佩恩顿或金斯韦尔下车，并在这两个小镇游览一番。佩恩顿段是一条历史铁路。我们选择了后者，出示车票后，可以免费搭乘渡轮前往达特茅斯，在那里停留三个多小时。
总而言之，虽然行程很长，但绝对是精彩的一天，我强烈推荐。
