点评:Bangalore's Cubbon Park is officially Sri Chamarajendra Park, since 1927, when it was renamed to commemorate the 19th-century ruler Sri Chamarajendra Wodeyar. The park was originally established in 1870 when it was named Meade’s Park after the acting commissioner of Mysore. In 1873, Sir Mark Cubbon, who became the longest-serving commissioner of Mysore, was honoured by having the park named after him.
The park sprawls across 197 acres. It's huge and so even on a Sunday (when I visited and the park was full of joggers, walkers, picnickers), etc., it didn't actually feel crowded. The vibe is very relaxed and friendly, with everybody doing whatever they are there for. There are jogging paths, several interesting statues (Queen Victoria, Edward VII, Sri Chamarajendra Wodeyar) scattered across the space. There is a bandstand, a lotus pond (no lotuses to be seen when I visited), and some landmark trees. Huge old giants! Just strolling through, admiring the trees and hearing the calls in the trees: great way to spend the morning.
