点评:You’d never guess that this beautiful park is located in the heart of Paterson, one of the denser areas of New Jersey. But the moment you stand in front of the powerful, misty waterfalls, you forget your surroundings entirely. It feels like a hidden escape right in the middle of the city.
I’ve heard that the Paterson Great Falls are the second largest waterfalls on the East Coast after Niagara Falls, which makes their presence even more impressive.
In my opinion, this park has incredible potential to become a top destination for visitors. Unfortunately, it’s clear that a lack of funding or proper management is holding it back. Many of the stunning red stone buildings nearby are vacant and crumbling, with broken windows and doors. There are no coffee shops, restrooms, or spots to grab a quick bite. On top of that, the site seems to have been under construction for quite a while the main pedestrian bridge, which offers one of the most scenic views, was closed to the public during my visit.
As a New Jerseyan, It’s truly sad to see what was once a proud symbol of American industry left in such a state of neglect.
