You have to work this a little; I would not bring kids except for a short visit.
Washington-on-the-Brazos State Historic Site的点评
点评:There are three main elements to this site: the somewhat minimalist recreation of Washington (town), the Star of the Republic Museum and the Barrington Farm - the latter is walkable but it .5 to .75 mile - take that into account if it's in the 90s. If you dig and have imagination you can get a feel for this particular place's rendezvous with destiny (and then its long slow decline). A lot of what you're going to see at the historic site is new, including the objects (turn something over, you may find a 'made in Vietnam' label). Not so with the Farm where there is more original and/or period correct furnishings - and where the docents/re-enactors are happy to provide information and commentary (the often have time too - I think a lot folk don't make that extra stop). The museum and contents are really quite interesting and in a way I wish I'd left more time for it and spent less time trying to extend the experience wandering around the village itself or in the visitor's center (don't spend time on the latter) I'd like to see more of the town recreated but for various reasons - not all of which I'm convinced of - this is probably it.
