点评:I used the cable car to ride to and then leave these beautiful gardens. Although it is possible to walk through the city to enter these gardens, it is a fair way to walk, and then spend time wandering.
These gardens are not situated on a flat piece of ground, but set in and around a steep hill. This is why the cable car is a better option to access these gardens. I particularly wanted to visit the dedicated rose gardens, but did not realise until it was too late that they are situated outside of the main botanical gardens. They are situated at the bottom of the hill, on the way back to the city centre. Being the time of year, many of the roses had 'gone over' and had already bloomed. No doubt when they are in bloom again they will look stunning.
A cafe as well as the obligatory gift shop are at the top of the cable car. After wandering around the many paths, a cool drink was exactly what I needed in the cafe.
