点评:First up, the service at the main counter was a bit odd, hard to explain but just seemed ultra cautious of our kids straight off the bat and we felt that vibe as our welcome - a bit robotic and unfriendly. The museum wouldn't accept the carer and disability hapai card which we found a bit sad too as all other museums we visit around the country do. Would highly recommend looking in to this for your guests at the museum. It makes a huge difference for people like us.
Up into the air playground and would give that a solid 5/5 - I don't think it's there permanently but is a long term exhibit you pay a little fee to enter, this is a must do activity with kids. Ours had a total blast up there! The lady and I wish I got her name who was up there in that area was super friendly, helpful and interactive with the kids which helped us settle into our visit a bit more after the start and she made our visit really awesome in that space and I think she deserves a pat on the back for making peoples experiences at the museum fulfilling. The air playground had so much to explore, a decent sensory experience and lots to interact with - plus big bouncy castle and wind tunnells and lots of things they could create and build. The xcite side which you also pay (a bit too much) for was not at all suitable for our kids aged 9 and 13. It says up to 15yr, but i would think in reality it is really only suitable as a play space for 5-6yrs old at most- both physically and developmentally anyone older than that would be past it, our kids certainly were. This brings me back to the service at the start and we felt like the person we intially interacted with should not have not taken our money for this area and recommended that this area was probably not suitable for their ages. The main museum is interesting and delves lots into culture of the waikato and this area is free to enter. There were clean toilet facilities and easy parking nearby.
