点评:A must visit when you are in or around Canberra! What a solemn, sobering experience. So many lives lost in the pursuit of the freedom, that we sometimes take for granted in this country.
So many memories preserved for future generations to acknowledge and appreciate. We all loved the interactive exhibit pieces; being able to select an item on the tablets located in/on the exhibit, we could learn about pieces that stood out to us as we made our way through each room.
I especially loved the old photographs and
Personal letters sent home to loved ones (especially the one on an army ration biscuit).
Each uniform, every piece of art or commemorative item has been meticulously displayed to highlight so many heroic individuals actions.
I recall visiting the tomb of the unknown soldier in my youth, then again with my children when they were young, and again today, with them as adults. We will definitely be back once the Anzac installation is unveiled.
Thank you to the Curators, Historians & Exhibitions Designers, you have done a wonderful job of preserving our country’s history 🙏🏻
Lest we forget
