Salus Spa at Aldwark Manor Estate的点评
点评：Potential to be something great but falling down on service, final touches and execution.
We were unlucky to visit on a day when the steam room and some massage buttons in the hydrotherapy pool were not working, but every other facility was great. Clean and tidy, plenty of beds, lovely robes towels and flip flops. The saunas were both really impressive.
It was very quiet and the cafe area for lunch felt almost canteen like with a lack of music or ambience. The Nyetimber wine was lovely but for it to be served in plastic when dining at a table for £15 a glass was pretty poor.
The changing facilities lacked hooks by the showers for robes/towels etc when washing - although a small thing, the final touches when your pricing yourself at a luxury spa matter.
I mentioned how with some facilities being out of order that a complimentary drink would have been appreciated and I was told they would have to speak to a manager(valid, but maybe just speak to the manager and address the issues rather than trying to pass it off). Disappointing when I know other spas I’ve been to would go above and beyond to acknowledge and appreciate how it is for guests who have paid expecting more.
I think with a few small tweaks and a closer attention to detail this spa could be the exclusive luxury escape it is aiming at, but at the moment it’s slightly lacking.
