点评:This tour was a lot of fun. Six of us in the back with Wayne our guide-driver. After everyone was picked up in the Worthing/Oistins area, we headed overland, first through residential areas and then along rutted paths through sugar cane fields with first stop the famous Gun Hill limestone lion. Obviously a projection of British “ownership” of Barbados at the time, standing with one large paw resting on a red ball, the red representing the “blood of soldiers who had defended this outpost of the British Empire. Dashing along more sugar cane fields we stopped briefly for a look at Blackman’s Bridge, the oldest bridge on the island, standing for over 300 years with only modest repairs. More rough rides though valleys and hills of sugar cane and we arrived at Hackleton’s Cliff with its tale of betrayal and death. Great view of Bathsheba, the most photographed land-and-seascape in all of Barbados. Then down to the beach for a closer look. Even with seatbelts fastened, be prepared to bounce around!
