点评:We were staying in the area and visited the Aqueduct on a quiet Saturday morning in October. Hands up, I got confused and thought that we were visiting the slightly longer Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, about 4 miles further along the canal, but we thoroughly enjoyed this one; particularly it's proximity to the Chirk Viaduct, which carries trains - quite exciting when one goes over as you are walking across.
It is quite high, as other reviewers have stated, but the railings are appropriately high and the path broad, so you feel quite safe. A tunnel at one end - the first canal tunnel to be built with a path, enabling horses to pull barges through, rather than the bargees having to 'leg' it through - and a pub at the other, make this a pleasant walk.
Parking might be an issue on a busier day, we parked in a side street near the old Police Station in Chirk, and there is a small (only room for about 6 vehicles) car park at the other end.
Well worth a visit, as part of a longer day, but perhaps not enough here for a discreet visit.
