点评：I went and did a public dig with shawn from avant mining. It was dull and disappointing. I went to the event expecting to dig in the wall and extract my own pieces. I also expected that the miner would teach me literally anything about doing that.. Told everyone they can’t touch the wall, “we save those for the private pocket digs.” Offered zero real advice. Walked around with another miner making jokes. The other miner was vaping.
I thought about that. This company buys mineral claims like they play monopoly, go in and rip what they want out of the ground to flip for profit, they stage a crystal pocket dig for the wealthy players of their game and then offer these public digs so the average hobbyist will pay them money to search for what Avant consider “trash crystals”. Crystals they didn’t care to pick up off the ground.
Avant’s game is pay to play and just like phone games on the market, they have built a paywall around the hobby and made this an expensive Easter egg hunt.
As for a rumor I heard through the grapevine; Avant is getting tipped off about crystals on forest land so they can go in and “ethically extract” them. Forest land should be protected from greedy companies such as this, and if they are doing this, then it’s considered stealing from the public and it’s federally illegal. I genuinely hope that these people from Avant aren’t taking forest land specimens and throwing them into their pot to sell. The operator of this enterprise must have a heart of stone. Here is the beauty in that… The owner will never be able to fill that void with any amount of money or crystals.
Instead of avant, I would recommend any of the other mines in the area. Crystal vista offers free digging and it’s a great opportunity to hike. Avant doesn’t offer a site for free public digging. Their game is to get you to pay them for busted rocks they couldn’t sell off of a table.
