点评:We visited on a wet Sunday, suspecting it would be a good visit to avoid the rain.
The museum inside has lots of old tractors, ploughs and other machinery however it isn’t overly interactive for children.
It could really do with a dedicated space to enable kids to explore the tractors more easily.
I appreciate this is a museum but given the age demographic that Sunday (literally every group was a family with a child under 5), I felt it was more suited at mechanical buffs and older people.
A large focus indoors was also on the tools used, but not a major focus on the locations, people or animals that shaped Scotland’s rural life.
Outdoors, unfortunately the tractor and trailer used to taxi you to the farm was out of service. The walk to the farm was perfectly doable but because it’s a working farm and we live in a H&S conscious world, all the barns and outbuildings were closed off so there was no where to shelter.
If you are considering visiting the young kids, I’d recommend Clyde Valley Farm park or Heads of Ayr as there’s far more to do.
