Not worth it if not nesting season

点评：We arranged transport from our hotel to the boat and it cost us an extra $45 pp. It was a 40-minute transfer (each way) from downtown Port of Spain. We arrived, waited to be called, and climbed aboard an open boat with 38 other people. We got lucky and got a seat at one edge.
We spent 2 hours and 40 minutes coasting along the swamp canals, and saw very little. And if we did spot something, it was typically too far away. Luckily we had binoculars with us, but it wasn't exciting.
Finally got to an area with large flocks of flamingoes, but we never got close. All photos turned out with just little pink polka dots.
The highlight was seeing scarlet ibis. It is past nesting season so all we saw were flocks of about 10 birds flying high overhead. Yes, they look very red, but we were very disappointed we never got a good view of one.
Overall, we were very disappointed; not worth the 5+ hours it took out of our afternoon and evening. If we went again, I would look for a private option. We saw one other boat out that had just a family (in a smaller boat).
