点评：Must see park! Make sure you stop at the Visitor's Center to get your map and chat with a park expert for where to go and HOW to get there! Example: Going down 5K steps is easier than going up 5K steps and there is a way to do one and not the other!
The park has everything from flat quick walks from parking lots on paved trails to VERY challenging trails over rocks and elevations.
When you get to the boggy area stay and watch a bit. We saw a brown water snake & multiple turtles ranging from the size of a nickel to a softball.
When you get to the spring section, go down a bit to where you can hear the rapids and wait. We saw a king fisher, cat bird, multiple muskrats, etc.
Elsewhere we saw the smallest frog, a striped skink, blue heron, ducks, various birds, stag beetle, etc.
Wear your gym shoes or hiking footwear if you are doing anything more than the paved trails. When the map says "rugged" it means "strap in for an off-road adventure experience"! I have a minor visual impairment affecting my downward vision, so in some areas I had to take extra time in order to pre-plan out where I needed to place my feet in order to navigate the rocky trail.
We were surprised that we didn't have any issues with mosquitos or ticks, but then we did spray ourselves with bug spray before heading out.
