点评：Mixed reviews for our tours organized by Tishmac Safaris. NOT RECOMMEND booking through Tishmac Safaris when there are similar packages available through others at similar price points with only positive reviews.
We did 2 tours through Tishmac.
Starting with the good, the guided tour of Nairobi National Park was a great experience. We were well taken care of by the team and thoroughly enjoyed the day. It seemed that guides across companies worked together to ensure a good experience for their customers. Highly recommend visiting this park.
Now for the bad, Hells Gate and Lake Naivasha Tour was quite the opposite to our very enjoyable experience at Nairobi National Park. Proceed with significant caution! To start, there was really no “guiding” by Tishmac, only driving and dropping you off with other tour operators at each park.
The Hells Gate Tour Guide part left us feeling unsafe, cheated, and insulted. What really made us uneasy was when the tour guide said we cannot pick you up at the end of the trail, so you can either bike back OR I can arrange a motor scooter $20 USD per person.” None of this was stated in the tour description.
Not knowing where this motorbike might take us, we decided it would be best/safest to bike, but while hiking to a look out at the back of the park, Gadhafi arranged to
have our bikes switched with different ones that were hardly functional with broken brakes and sticky gears. With any remaining trust eroded, we just took the broken bikes back, only to have Gadhafi then mock us with our original bikes halfway back through the park.
When we reconnected with our Tishmac driver, he was amazed we chose to bike back because supposedly he would have picked us up, blaming Gadhafi which seems totally believable. This tour really put a bit of a sour ending on an otherwise
wonderful experience in Kenya.
The reason we CANNOT RECOMMEND Tishmac Safaris is when we contacted Tishmac about our experience at Hells Gate, they only offered a partial 50% refund of fee paid to Tishmac (tours and park fees we already paid seperately), suggesting that are only taking partial accountability for a tour they organized. If a tour
organizer cannot stand completely by the tours they offer to ensure a safe and comfortable experience for their customers, we as customers cannot recommend them when there are some many other options out there.
